Over the past 3 years, Boeing has built a corporate venture capital investment portfolio that is now nearly the size of rival aircraft OEM Airbus — historically a more active VC investor.
Aerospace corporate investment has largely flown under the radar since the two primary OEMs started investing. Neither Airbus nor Boeing are investors in the high profile technology companies targeted by the likes of SoftBank, and neither invests as extensively as industrial corporate venture capital groups like GE Ventures.
