The best person in your company to fill out the survey depends on your business and what stage you are at. Usually, marketing, product, sales, and/or founders are involved in briefings.
Our analysts are working hard to put the best companies in front of our clients. They rely on specific information and measurable results on key metrics to do so. Make it as easy as possible for them. You can provide proof points in the form of demo videos, case studies, etc. but understand they may not have time to review a large number of videos or documents. Concise and precise answers are key.
Our CEO, Anand Sanwal, laid out his tips for a strong Analyst Briefing.
Your submission will increase your exposure to our clients who are regularly searching for partners and vendors that can help them unlock opportunities. Participation will bolster your company profile on our platform and make you eligible to be featured in our newsletter (>720K subscribers). CB Insights is also regularly referenced by the media. Analyst Briefing Survey submissions ensure we have a complete view of your company when we receive hundreds of inquiries and citations.
The information you submit will primarily be used by our analysts to create research for material, such as rankings and company assessments. Our research is used by enterprise technology buyers, M&A teams, and investors. We also curate and facilitate client connections. The more data you provide in the Analyst Briefing Survey, the more information we can share to help you generate leads.

Fill out our initial application–tell us who you are and why we should care. This takes 3 minutes to complete. Our analysts review all applications and follow up with select companies.
If our analysts choose to follow up, we’ll ask you to complete the larger Analyst Briefing survey. The survey is submitted online and typically takes less than an hour. Once we send you the link, you will have a limited window in which to finish submitting your survey–typically around 3 weeks. This is your opportunity to explain your value proposition in more detail.
After you complete the survey, we may reach out to schedule analyst calls to clarify specific aspects of your briefing and learn more.
Briefing our analysts is 100% free. If selected, there is no cost to be highlighted in our research.
Yes. The platform will automatically save your work – you can use the same secure link to continue working on your survey at a later date (up until the deadline) and you can share the link used with others to view/provide input.
Multiple people on your team may receive an email with the survey link but do not use more than one link to complete the survey – make sure to start and finish the survey using the same link (i.e., only one person from the company needs to enter information and submit it).
The majority of the survey questions will focus on products and services, total addressable market, financial status and health, value proposition, sales model and go-to-market strategy, management team and leadership, and commercial outcomes. If your team isn’t ready to answer these questions, you can return and submit an Analyst Briefing Request later.
Our survey requires different information depending on the type of business you operate as – you will need to indicate whether you are B2B or B2C and answer the respective set of questions. If you consider yourself both B2B and B2C, choose the category that generates the most revenue and/or would be most interesting for our analysts. Do not fill out multiple Analyst Briefing Surveys for the same company.
